MAIPO ANDES PREMIUM TOUR
Join the Maipo Andes Premium Tour, in the region of Alto Maipo, the closest wine region right on the doorstep of Santiago.
The region stretches into the foothills of the Andes with a micro-climate perfect for well-balanced reds.
FIRST STOP…
We drive towards Pirque, a rural community on the southern edge of the Maipo valley, just out of Santiago’s sphere, where we have the opportunity to visit the personal project of renowned winemaker, German Lyon.
Enjoy a welcome glass of wine as you walk among the vines and hear the story of this family project, where everyone is hands-on and everything is human-scale. Visit the modern winemaking facility and then settle on the terrace to enjoy the view and taste the other two wines of this boutique project, while enjoying homemade charcuterie and cheese.
LUNCH & SECOND WINERY …
Next we visit a beautiful corner of the valley and visit the result of two forged passions: horses and wine. Explore the modern, horseshoe-shaped, gravity-flow winery, visit the impressive cellar, and finish with a tasting of three premium wines.
Retire to the winery’s restaurant and sit down for a tasty meal, with starter and main especially paired with wine, and followed by a delicious dessert and coffee, all while enjoying a panoramic view over the Maipo valley, the vines below and the majestic Andes mountains.
OPTIONAL THIRD WINERY …
As we head back towards Santiago, we drive to Macul, a community on the southwest edge of the Maipo valley, now a part of Santiago’s growing sphere. We visit the historical property of Cousiño Macul where you will visit the vineyard and learn about its sustainable practices, visit the antique vats where wine was made in the 19th century and the centenary underground cellars. You will taste 3 wines along the way then after the tour, a further 3 wines from the Grand Reserve and Premium lines.
We will drop you at your accommodation at the end of your day in the Alto Maipo valley.

What our clients say
Kylie met us when we got off our cruise ship in San Antonio. What a wonderful guide and person Kylie is. She is very organized and runs her... read more company in a very professional manner. We spend two days with her and she helped us find hotels & restaurants. What she does best is show you varieties of wineries in both size and complexity. She arranges great tours and lunches. The tours are well paced so you see a great deal but have time to enjoy each winery and lunch. We had two perfect days and I can't imagine anything better. Kylie of Chile Wine Trails has the highest recommendation we can offer, you will not be disappointed.

I simply cannot imagine how the tour that Kylie designed and booked for us could have been better. Not only did we have someone to drive us so that we... read more could drink wine (Chile has a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving), we had a tour guide who made all the winery bookings, a
Sommelier, and interpreter all rolled into one. Kylie is so knowledgeable that she put together a 2.5 day tour that really showcased the Chilean wine industry and the fantastic wines that they had to offer. She has wonderful relationships with the winemakers and staff who made us feel like VIPs. Great tour at a great price. Thank you Kylie!

I had done other Casablanca tours with longer-established companies, but we thought we'd see what Kylie had to offer. I was sold when I saw that her tour included... read more lunch at Casa Botha! There were 6 of us in a family group, and Kylie kept the tour to just us, which made for a more personalised day. We visited two great wineries and had an amazing lunch at Casa Botha, where our guests really enjoyed David's hospitality. Our visitors from New Zealand said afterwards that it had been worth coming to Chile just for the tour, and especially the lunch.
Kylie is incredibly knowledgeable about the Chilean wine and food scene and provides an excellent service. We'll definitely be back!

We spent our honeymoon and Chile including a two day tour of the Colchagua Valley with Kylie which was the highlight of the trip for both of us. Over two... read more days, we visited 6 wineries ranging from the largest and most wineries to the smallest and newest. Along the way we learned about the amazing history and culture of wine making, drank incredible wine, ate delicious meals, and saw some of the most breathtaking views. Kylie was a terrific guide, adding insights along the way and curating experiences that we would not have been able to achieve on our own. We enjoyed the Colchagua experience so much that we booked another tour of the Casablanca Valley with Kylie on our last day in Chile and hope to return soon!

we ate we drank we got merry. And all off the usual beaten track of Chilean enoturismo. We asked Kylie to put together a package that would be interesting... read more and different and she delivered in spades. The tour was a family Christmas treat so started from our flat in Las Condes and took in William Fevre in Pirque (for an early thirst quencher) where we met the enologist who discussed the different terroirs up the Cajon de Maipu and around Pirque, and how they affect the wines. We had a mooch round the wine making facilities and then got to the important bit - a tasting under the trees (yummy) and some retail therapy in the bodega shop. We tried a chardonnay, a rose and the chacai (¿cachai?) a rather excellent asemblaje. Unfortunately we cleaned the shop out of it and would have bought more if we could.
Next stop was Chateau Los Boldos - not usually open to Joe Public but that doesn't stop Kylie! Here we met the viticulturist - the guy in charge of actually growing grapes good enough to make the wine. It was here that we learned how much a team effort the whole vitification is (and how the enologists steal all the glory!). We asked loads of questions, almost overstayed our welcome and of course did some tasting. Again excellent wines, no shop a few hints as to where you can buy them in Santiago. next stop was Anakena and lunch. We were late but we still got the tour description of the process tour of the gardens and shown how the leaves of the different vines differ. The to the restaurant which was outstanding. Delicious hors d'oeuvres awaited us while the chef put the finishing touches to lunch. Well he had some more wine with lunch and of course bought yet more (cases) in the shop. After lunch it was time for some photos and then the ride home.
Kylie provided a highly personalised service with a great selection of different vineyards and delicious at very reasonable prices. If you hadn't guessed I'd recommend going on one of her trips (unless you don't like wine or food). I'll be going on another soon I am sure.

Kylie planned an incredible trip to two vineyards in the Casablanca Valley. The first, an organic wine tour paired with chocolate & cheese. The second, a unique vineyard with very... read more interesting blends of wines. We had a delicious wine paired lunch in the cellar of the vineyard. Kylie was a great host & explained everything perfectly! Such an enjoyable experience!
