COLCHAGUA & CACHAPOAL VALLEY TWO DAY TRIP

Colchagua & Cachapoal Wine Tour

Our two-day Colchagua tour takes us via the Colchagua wine region to the entrance of the Colchagua wine valley.  Visit three distinctly different wineries over the course of the first day.  After an overnight stay, you’ll enjoy a further three wineries in the valley before returning to Santiago.

DAY ONE

CACHAPOAL VALLEY…

As we head south from Santiago, the Cachapoal Valley stretches from Rapel lake and the coast, to the foothills of the Andes, featuring diverse microclimates that allow for a wide variety of wines.

FIRST WINERY…

Visit this modern winery, constructed in year 2000, nestled in the foothills of the Andes.  Enjoy a tasting of three of their premium wines and hear about their story as part of this wine making group.

LUNCH…

Retire to the “quincho” for a delicious four-course lunch, paired with
three premium wines, revealing the secrets of Chilean cuisine. Whilst you enjoy your food, toast the mountain breezes and an unrivalled panoramic view of the Cachapoal Valley.

COLCHAGUA VALLEY…

Arguably Chile’s most famous region, the diverse Colchagua Valley sits 150 kilometers to the south of Santiago. With wineries stretching from the higher altitude of the foothills of the Andes mountain range, through its center around Santa Cruz, and towards the Pacific Ocean coast, the region is synonymous with quality Chilean wines, and particularly favorable for Chile’s flagship Carménère.
SECOND WINERY…

We drive to the entrance of the Colchagua Valley, to an historical vineyard. Visit the 100+ year old vines, tour the beautiful colonial buildings and cellar, and taste four emblematic wines from diverse terroirs.

Drive to your Santa Cruz hotel.

DAY TWO

On our second day, we explore deeper into the Colchagua Valley, the  Apalta Valley, a sub-region known for some of the best wines of Chile.

FIRST WINERY…

Start your day at a vineyard situated on the oldest vineyard in the valley where you’ll hike to the Apalta National Reserve and the Chilean Oak forest.  Visit the aromas garden where your senses will be ignited and you’ll discover the varied scents present in the vineyard.  Visit the centennial vines, dating back to the 19th century, and the 1890 cellar.  You’ll then enjoy a vertical tasting of two vintages of their flagship icon wine.

SECOND WINERY…

Next it’s off to lunch, to enjoy a delicious a-la-carte lunch at a restaurant of world-renowned Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann. You can select their wines by the glass, or select a bottle from their ample selection. Choose from a range of delicious seasonal dishes featuring local produce cooked over the fire as you take in the beautiful surrounds of the vineyard. *(Lunch not included in tour price).

After lunch, tour the architecturally amazing facilities of this organic and bio-dynamic winery, following the wine making process on its gravitational path. Then, enjoy a taste of two wines from their range, including their icon wine.

You can then relax while you’re transported back to Santiago at the end of an amazing two days.
