CASABLANCA BOUTIQUE WINE TOUR
CASABLANCA BOUTIQUE WINE TOUR
Join the Casablanca Boutique Wine Tour and discover some premium boutique wineries and their amazing projects in the Casablanca Wine Valley.
FIRST WINERY…
We head west through the Coastal Mountain range to the Casablanca valley where we will be received, by the owner herself, and she will tell us the story of how this Brazilian couple came to make wine in Chile, as she shows us their small but diverse vineyard, consisting of eight different varieties (specially selected because, well, they like them).
You will be presented four of their special wines for tasting.
SECOND WINERY…
Next, we will visit a family project, considered the innovators of the region who take pride in making wines of unique character. Visit their unique cellar and their cozy “Almacen” (General Store) before enjoying a four-course seasonal meal especially created by a local chef to pair with their wines
OPTIONAL THIRD WINERY…
We will then transport you back to Santiago at the end of an enjoyable and indulgent day.

we ate we drank we got merry. And all off the usual beaten track of Chilean enoturismo. We asked Kylie to put together a package that would be interesting... read more and different and she delivered in spades. The tour was a family Christmas treat so started from our flat in Las Condes and took in William Fevre in Pirque (for an early thirst quencher) where we met the enologist who discussed the different terroirs up the Cajon de Maipu and around Pirque, and how they affect the wines. We had a mooch round the wine making facilities and then got to the important bit - a tasting under the trees (yummy) and some retail therapy in the bodega shop. We tried a chardonnay, a rose and the chacai (¿cachai?) a rather excellent asemblaje. Unfortunately we cleaned the shop out of it and would have bought more if we could.
Next stop was Chateau Los Boldos - not usually open to Joe Public but that doesn't stop Kylie! Here we met the viticulturist - the guy in charge of actually growing grapes good enough to make the wine. It was here that we learned how much a team effort the whole vitification is (and how the enologists steal all the glory!). We asked loads of questions, almost overstayed our welcome and of course did some tasting. Again excellent wines, no shop a few hints as to where you can buy them in Santiago. next stop was Anakena and lunch. We were late but we still got the tour description of the process tour of the gardens and shown how the leaves of the different vines differ. The to the restaurant which was outstanding. Delicious hors d'oeuvres awaited us while the chef put the finishing touches to lunch. Well he had some more wine with lunch and of course bought yet more (cases) in the shop. After lunch it was time for some photos and then the ride home.
Kylie provided a highly personalised service with a great selection of different vineyards and delicious at very reasonable prices. If you hadn't guessed I'd recommend going on one of her trips (unless you don't like wine or food). I'll be going on another soon I am sure.
