As we head south from Santiago, the Cachapoal Valley stretches from Rapel lake and the coast, to the foothills of the Andes, featuring diverse microclimates that allow for a wide variety of wines.
Visit this modern winery, constructed in year 2000, nestled in the foothills of the Andes. Enjoy a tasting of three of their premium wines and hear about their story as part of this wine making group.
Retire to the “quincho” for a delicious four-course lunch, paired with
three premium wines, revealing the secrets of Chilean cuisine. Whilst you enjoy your food, toast the mountain breezes and an unrivalled panoramic view of the Cachapoal Valley.
We drive to the entrance of the Colchagua Valley, to an historical vineyard. Visit the 100+ year old vines, tour the beautiful colonial buildings and cellar, and taste four emblematic wines from diverse terroirs.
Drive to your Santa Cruz hotel.
Start your day at a vineyard situated on the oldest vineyard in the valley where you’ll visit the centennial vines and the aromas garden and ignite your senses as you discover the varied scents present in the vineyard. Return to the historical tasting room where you’ll enjoy a vertical tasting of two vintages of their flagship icon wine.
Next it’s off to lunch, to enjoy a delicious a-la-carte lunch at a restaurant of world-renowned Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann. You can select their wines by the glass, or select a bottle from their ample selection. Choose from a range of delicious seasonal dishes featuring local produce cooked over the fire as you take in the beautiful surrounds of the vineyard. *(Lunch not included in tour price).
After lunch, visit an historical winery, starting with a short history of the family followed by a stroll through the vine library and a ride through the vines in a horse-drawn carriage. Return to the colonial tasting rooms to taste five wines from their extensive range.
You can then relax while you’re transported back to Santiago at the end of an amazing two days.
