COLCHAGUA VALLEY WINE TOUR

Our two-day Colchagua tour takes us via the Alto Maipo wine region to the entrance of the Colchagua wine valley. Visit three distinctly different wineries over the course of the first day. After an overnight stay, you’ll enjoy a further three wineries in the valley before returning to Santiago.

DAY ONE

First stop is a family-owned winery recognized both nationally and internationally for consistency and high quality. Visit their uniquely-designed and modern “bodega”, constructed to be in complete harmony with nature. Hear about the key factors that influence their wines. Experience first-hand the difference between American and French oak. Enjoy a tasting of three of their quality wines accompanied with a cheese board.

We then drive to the entrance of the Colchagua Valley to our next winery. You will enjoy an a-la-carte lunch (not included in price) in a beautiful setting with a view over the polo field.

After lunch, you’ll take a short tour of the colonial buildings of this historic winery. Then taste three wines from their Grand Reserve line, the result of their best terroirs.

On our last stop for the day, you’ll meet personally with the owner at a small production “garage” winery. Hear about their concept for “Slow Wine” and enjoy a conversation and glass of wine in a truly relaxing environment.

You’ll then be dropped off at your pre-arranged accommodation (not included in price) for a relaxing evening.

DAY TWO

You’ll be picked up from your hotel for your first winery. Visit an historic winery where you’ll take a tour through the vines in a horse-drawn carriage. See the wine making process and taste a wine in-progress, straight from the tank. Return to the colonial tasting rooms to sample a further 5 wines from their extensive range.

We then head into the Apalta valley, a sub-region of the Colchagua Valley, to the restaurant of a world-renowned Argentinian chef, where you can enjoy a delicious a-la-carte lunch. Located amongst the vines of Viña Montes (No. 4 in World’s Best Vineyards), you can select their wines by the glass, including the premium Purple Angel, or select a bottle from their ample selection. Choose from a range of delicious seasonal dishes featuring local produce cooked over the fire as you take in the beautiful surrounds of the vineyard. *Lunch not included in tour price

After lunch, visit the architecturally amazing facilities of this French-influenced winery, an ultra-premium, organic and bio-dynamic winery. Enjoy a private tour through the vines to the majestic winery set in the hill. Start on the rooftop with amazing views over the vineyard and follow the wine making process on its gravitational path, finishing in the incredible barrel room. You’ll then taste three premium wines made in this impressive facility, including two vintages of their internationally-recognised icon wine.

You can then relax while you’re transported back to Santiago at the end of an amazing two days.

Tour includes some private premium winery visits and requires time to confirm appointments. Tour can be adjusted to change wineries to suit tastes and budgets where possible.

Price is per person for a two-day tour with your English speaking guide, transport to and from your Santiago base and all tours, tastings, and lunches described. Does not include accommodation.

What she does best is show you varieties of wineries in both size and complexity.  She arranges great tours and lunches.  The tours are well paced so you see a great deal but have time to enjoy each winery and lunch.  We had two perfect days and I can't imagine anything better. Kylie is knowledgeable, friendly, and definitely knows her wines.... read more Each winery visited was very different, ranging in size from boutique producer to one of the larger premier brands with the tastings showcasing a wide range of styles of Chilean wine. Our tour also included lunch at the Flaherty winery where the food offered was absolutely divine. Only warning – most of the wines are so good you’ll drink all of every glass you’re offered…. A very enjoyable day out!

It was such a relaxed experience - not having to think about anything because Kylie took... read more care of it all (driving, bookings, choosing the wineries, selecting lunch etc.) We felt perfectly pampered! The three wineries - Veramonte, Casas del Bosque, and Viñamar - perfectly complemented each other. And of course Kylie herself is a treasure! Charming, entertaining and not getting tired of our constant questions about the wines, wineries, and Chile in general. She also gave us recommendations unrelated to the tour that were very welcome. Not only did we have someone to drive us so that we... read more could drink wine (Chile has a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving), we had a tour guide who made all the winery bookings, a

Sommelier, and interpreter all rolled into one. Kylie is so knowledgeable that she put together a 2.5 day tour that really showcased the Chilean wine industry and the fantastic wines that they had to offer. She has wonderful relationships with the winemakers and staff who made us feel like VIPs. Great tour at a great price. Thank you Kylie!

					  This was a really amazing tour that made us feel looked after and catered to. Kylie prepared a totally customized tour for us, with an amazing price-value, specific to the... read more locations, times, and days we could go (limited in time). She did everything to make sure we were comfortable, having fun, and fulfilled all our wishes and requests.

On our tour, we were picked up on time in a BMW (tour was only us two and one other woman) and whisked away to Santa Rita as a first stop. Although this is a major wine producer in Chile, the tour was a good size and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. We tried a few wines and Kylie, the tour guide, even bought each of us some snacks and another glass of wine to enjoy in the gardens before heading off to the next stop.

We next went to a small but amazingly tasty restaurant and were treated to a three course lunch with a bottle of wine, water, and coffee. We couldnt get over how good the food was and generous the tour was. Our next stop was a smaller winery, William Fevre, where we got to see the production area, speak with the manager, walk around the grounds, and try some of their best wines.

We would recommend this tour to anyone staying in Santiago or going to Chile! We thouroughly enjozed the day and tips for Santiagos wine bars afterwards!
