Kylie is a warm, vibrant personality who speaks fluent Spanish, along with Aussie English, and she knows her vineyards. Want large wineries?; small boutique wineries?; delightful restaurants out in the country to enjoy spectacular Chilean food (oh, God, and more wine), she has excellent relationships with the local winemakers from Alta Maipo (the Andes foothills), to Casablanca in the Coastal range. This is a wine lovers paradise, and Kylie made it so much fun and totally memorable. She. picked us up at our Santiago Hotel at 9am and got us back to our hotel from our Alto Maipo touring by 4 or 5. We loved her! Kylie was booked the day we were available to hit the coastal wineries, but went out of her way to arrange to have an associate take us to those wineries, which we combined with a tour of the seaside town of Valparaiso, Kylie coordinated the entire day as well. Valpo is a stunning port city, famous for its hillside murals painted on the sides of houses, walls, stairs in the hills near the central city. A funicular takes you up the hill side to see these UNESCO-protected murals and houses. This was another 9am pick up at our hotel, and we were deposited back around 6pm. What a couple of days! We tasted some great wines and Kylie was always on hand to translate anything that wasn’t clear to those of us who’s Spanish is not so good. Along the way we learned about the amazing history and culture of wine making, drank incredible wine, ate delicious meals, and saw some of the most breathtaking views. Kylie was a terrific guide, adding insights along the way and curating experiences that we would not have been able to achieve on our own.
